Extracurricular Activity Assistance Program

Bridge Credit Union is awarding monetary assistance for students in Grades 3-12 to assist with out of pocket fees associated with extracurricular activities. Please review the eligibility requirements below before applying.

How the Program Works

We provide financial support for school-sanctioned or community-based extracurricular activities.

  • Who is Eligible: Active Bridge, Struthers, or Yellow Springs members in Grades 3–12. (Must have a Youth Savings Account).
  • Award Amount: $250 per student annually. The same student applicant cannot win more than once per year.
  • Total Funding: A maximum of $1,000 is awarded per year.
  • Direct Payment: To ensure funds are used properly, checks are mailed directly to the school, club, or organization.

Application periods will be twice per year.

  • Spring application period: January – February. The award will be given sometime in March.
  • Fall application period: June – July. The award will be given sometime in August.

Eligible Activities & Programs

We support a wide variety of activities that foster growth, leadership, and community. These are some examples, but not everything is listed:

  • Athletics & Wellness: Football, Volleyball, Martial Arts, Gymnastics, and Swim Teams.
  • STEM & Academic Enrichment: Robotics and Coding, Math or Chess Clubs, Science Olympiad, and Language classes.
  • Creative & Performing Arts: Marching Band, Orchestra, Choir, private music lessons, Graphic Design, Pottery, and Photography
  • Leadership & Civic Engagement: Scouting, 4-H, Student Government, National Honor Society, and School Media/Yearbook

Review Process

Please submit your request during the active application window so our team has ample time to review it. To keep our focus on reviewing applications, we are unable to provide status updates over the phone.

In your submission, please describe the specific extracurricular activity for which you are requesting assistance, the life skills you have developed or hope to develop through your participation, and how these funds will help you participate in your activity if you are selected.

Full Eligibility Requirements

Assistance will be awarded to credit union members for extracurricular costs such as sports, band, clubs, cheerleading, and more that are not met by boosters, grants, or fundraisers. Awarded assistance money will be paid directly to the appropriate organization, club, or school. Checks will not be paid to individual students or members. To apply for assistance, applicants must have a Youth Savings Account with Bridge Credit Union. Applicants must remain a member in good standing with the credit union. Applications must be completed within the submission period to be considered for the applicable award month.  Applicants will be selected randomly. Not all applicants will be awarded; applicants may reapply during the next Application Submission Period. Awards and amounts are at the credit union’s discretion. This program is subject to change at any time without notice. A maximum of $1,000 will be awarded per year. A maximum of $250 will be awarded per student annually, not to exceed the cost of the activity. The same student applicant cannot win more than once per year. There is no limit on the number of children in a family eligible to receive assistance in a year. Employees, Board Members, and their immediate family members, including household members, are ineligible to apply. Immediate family is defined as spouse, children, grandchildren, and parents.
